List Of Top 10 components of a well-designed Techpack:
1. Basic Details
In a well-designed techpack basic details such as name of brand, Season, style description, total order quantity, etc. Should be mentioned. Basic details of the garment should be on the first page of the tech pack. It gives the manufacturers and readers a basic idea of the garment.

2. Reference Images:
Reference images should be on the first page of a techpack along with the basic details. You can also add the reference Images on the second page of the techpack. In a well-defined tech pack, a clear image of the front and back of the garment should be there. You can also add one or two extra images& with different angles. If the inside image of the garment is available, you can add it. It will help the manufacturers to understand the detailing and construction of the garment. If there are any changes in the main garment, you can mention below the reference image.

3. Labeling the reference images
Labeling the reference garment will help the manufacturer. Sometimes, the images are not clear; or different angles of the garment are not available. At that time, it helps the readers and manufacturers to understand the construction of the garment.

4. Technical sketch of the garment
Many people think that only a technical sketch is important for a tech pack. Yes, it is the most important component of the tech pack. A detailed and labeled technical sketch helps the manufacturer and readers understand the basic details of the garment. All the construction details should be mentioned on the technical sketch with the label. All the construction details like darts, stitch types, pocket types, etc. should be mentioned in the technical sketch. If possible; measurements should be added too. However, it is hard to add measurements for a small company as they rely on online websites and images. To create a detailed tech pack one should add a detailed technical sketch of the front, back, and if possible inside.

5. Size Break up Sheet
Many people ignore this while creating a techpack. A Size breakdown sheet explains a number of sizes with their respective quantities. Let’s suppose, the order quantity of an order of t-shirts is 100 pieces. The sizes break-up sheets show that for a particular order, the quantity of Small sizes is 25 pieces, the quantity of Medium sizes is 25 pieces, the quantity of Large sizes is 25 pieces, and the quantity of Extra Large sizes is 25 pieces. At the end of the size break-up sheet, the total order Quantity should be mentioned.

6. Measurement Chart
Measurement Chart is the most important component of the techpack. All points of measurement of all sizes should be in the tech pack. If possible, add a picture of how to measure the garment too. Although, it is not compulsory. Let’s suppose, you are making a tech pack of a t-shirt; then you should mention length, chest, shoulder, and Sleeve length. On the measurement sheet, you must add a tolerance level. It should be mentioned on both the + and – sides. We will explain this with an example.
Let’s suppose, the sleeve length of a t-shirt is 12 inches, and the tolerance is ± 0.5 inches. During Production, if a t-shirt Sleeve length is between 11.5 inches- 12.5 inches, Quality checkers will pass that t-tshirt. If the sleeve length of any t-shirt is less than 11.5 inches or more than 12.5 inches; quality checkers will reject that t-shirt.

7. Bill of materials
Every single component that makes a garment is mentioned in the Bill of Materials. The placement of that material is also written in the Bill of Materials. Generally, the vendor name is also mentioned in the bill of materials. Basically, Hendor you are mentioning the shop or industry from where you are buying your raw materials. In the Bill of Materials, the Quantity of the material should be mentioned, if possible. We will try to explain a bill of materials by an example: Let’s suppose, we are making a bill of material for denim Jeans. We will be needing, fabric (denim fabric), Zipper, thread, Pocketing fabric, main label, wash care label, size label, button, rivets, etc. All these along with vendor name, placement, and Quantity should be mentioned.

8. Swatch card
A simple page, yet a very important page for manufacturers. A Swatch card should be there in a well-designed tech pack. In the Swatch Card; you just have to Staple or paste a Swatch of the main fabric, which is going to be used in the garment. If your garment has multiple fabrics like Lining and other Satin fabrics, then they should be added on the Swatch too. On the swatch card, please mention the fabric composition.

9: Trims Card
Just like Swatch Card, add a page for trims. On that page, Stick or pin every Single trims which is going to be used for the garment. Thread, Labels, etc. should be there on trims card.

10. Label placement
Generally, there are 3 types of labels, Main Label, wash care label, and size Label. However, some Companies add few extra label according to their style. The placement of all the labels should be clearly mentioned in the tech pack.
